WELLESLEY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Both Punxsutawney Phil and Massachusett’s own official groundhog, Ms. G, saw their shadows on Groundhog Day, the second year in a row where the two were in agreement. When the groundhogs see their shadow, it is an indication of the prediction that there will be six more weeks of winter.
Ms. G has been the official groundhog of Massachusetts since 2014 when an elementary class in Wellesley teamed up with Mass Audubon and officials to write a bill and Ms. G has predicted with 60% accuracy since then.
