GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The ruling in the case of City of Greenfield and former Police Chief Robert Haigh against former Officer Patrick Buchanan has been upheld by the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
Arguments for a mistrial were held in December claiming the presiding judge acted adversely with the defense, irrelevant evidence being presented, and relevant evidence being excluded; however, the Appeals Court upheld the ruling that Buchanan had been racially discriminated against.
It is unclear whether the City of Greenfield and Haigh will file another appeal in the next three weeks.
