BUCKLAND, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — On Monday, Mohawk and Hawlemont districts’ Superintendent Sheryl Stanton wrote home to families about another allegation of an inappropriate relationship, this time it was between a student and the SRO assigned to Mohawk Trail.

The investigation began in January 2025, when the reports were made and at that time the SRO was removed from the school, according to Superintendent Stanton.

The investigation report by Berkshire County Assistant District Attorney Rachel Eramo found that inappropriate conduct did occur between the SRO co-teaching a Forensics class.

“While not criminal, the relationship falls well outside the district’s expectation for professional conduct. As a result, we will be working to find a new SRO for MTRSD,” wrote Superintendent Stanton.

Stanton then shared action steps the district is taking to address inappropriate conduct; “we will continue to use Enough Abuse to review our procedures and provide training to our staff to identify boundary crossing behaviors that lead to inappropriate conduct. We will also be implementing a student-centered curriculum through the Children’s Advocacy Center.”

This notification came just days after another announcement of misconduct allegations against a former MTRS athletic coach in relation to events that occurred between 2016 and 2019.
