GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — An event that in a relatively short period of time has evolved into a “must-attend’ is set for Saturday at the Franklin County Fairgrounds in Greenfield.

Frankin County’s Largest Tag sale will take place Saturday, rain or shine, with gates opening at 8:30 a.m. and the tag sale running until 2:00 p.m.

“This is such a great community event,” said Dan Guin, President and General Manager of the Western Mass Media Group. “It’s not about money. It’s about bringing the area together with a very small cost to participate.”

The tag sale has traditionally drawn large crowds to the fairgrounds, as shoppers seek numerous bargains all in one place on one day.

“This has turned into a local event people look forward to,” said Guin. “I never expected it to draw thousands in a few hours.”

There will be several food vendors set up at the fairgrounds, and the day will also feature a live broadcast of “Bear Swaps with Jennifer” from 8:00-10:00 on Bear Country 95.3.

“I want people to get rid of their junk and spend time with their neighbors…it’s like a giant version of Bear Swaps,” said Guin.

Entry to the fairgrounds is free. There is a small fee for the fair parking lot. The money raised from that will go directly to the Franklin County Fairgrounds.
