GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Concerns were raised by families of Greenfield Public Schools after a photo of a school form from a back-to-school packet circulated across  the internet stating that due to a “new law” schools would be sharing junior and senior student names, address and phone number with military recruiters unless parents complete the form to opt out.

School officials responded stating the law is not new, the form has only been recently updated, but the laws referenced – the Solomon Amendment, Hutchinson Amendment, and the Every Student Succeeds Act, are not new. Caregivers may opt out of having schools share their students’ information by completing the form and returning to the guidance office.
