(Greenfield, MA) – Greenfield Police are warning residents about a new Internet scam. It comes via email and claims to have had access to the victim’s computer, and threatens to release embarrassing videos taken through the computer’s video camera unless money is received. Police say it appears a business computer may have been hacked, and that is how email addresses were obtained for use in the scam. Anyone who receives such an email is asked to call their local police.
