ORANGE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — On Friday evening, Orange Firefighters were called to a resident’s home where smoke was filling the basement. An overheated sump pump was found to be the cause of the fire, which was extinguished without any reported injuries.
Firefighters on scene also found a space heater plugged into an extension cord and issued a public reminder as heating season begins, to plug heaters directly into outlets and ensure there are working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in all rooms.
