SHELBURNE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — SNAP benefits for November have been delayed and after a federal judge directed the Trump administration to utilize emergency funds for the program, benefits could be restored as early as this week.
Meanwhile community organizations and local businesses are stepping up to fill in the gaps. The Mary Lyon Foundation is collecting donations for families in the Mohawk and Hawlemont school districts.
Mary Lyon Foundation’s backpack program will begin this Wednesday, November 5th. Families can contact their schools to sign up for the program and donations will be accepted at the schools as well.
