ERVING, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Police are investigating the death of a 40 year-old Erving man who appeared to have fallen from a tree stand while hunting, where he was found by authorities on Monday evening in the area of the French King Highway.
According to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, no foul play is suspected at this time.

Police investigating a death in Erving
ERVING – Police are investigating the death of a 40-year-old male from Erving who appears to have fallen from a tree while hunting.
On Monday, November 3, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m., authorities were dispatched to the area of French King Highway in the town of Erving. Upon arrival, they located the deceased male lying near the base of a tree. He was declared deceased at the scene.
The death remains under investigation by the Erving Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit attached to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. At this time, no foul play is suspected.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death
