WINCHESTER, NH (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Winchester, New Hampshire is no longer under a “Do Not Drink” water advisory.

The Department of Environmental Services confirmed through specialized testing as well as routine water quality testing that the water was not contaminated and is safe to drink after concerns arose over potential dissolved gases in the water.

Overnight between Monday, November 10th and Tuesday, November 11th air measurement tools, not water quality testing instruments, detected dissolved gases at multiple locations, thus triggering the “Do Not Drink” advisory out of concern for public safety.

All testing during the investigation came back showing the water was safe to drink.
