ORANGE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — On Friday evening, a chimney fire sparked in a residence at 59 High Street in Orange.
The fire was reported at approximately 9:20 p.m. and arriving firefighters found visible fire in the 2nd floor walls surrounding a pellet stove.
Orange Fire officials say quick action by a neighbor who called 911 and threw water on the exterior of the building helped in the mitigation of the fire damage.
Although the residence was saved, it has been deemed uninhabitable until repairs could be made.
