GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — $3.6 billion in federal funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, LIHEAP, has been released as of Friday.
Funds for LIHEAP have been delayed since the government shutdown and states are expecting to receive their allocations imminently.
Community Action Pioneer Valley, the local organization dispersing home energy assistance, has not yet updated their announcement from November 19th wherein they said the funds were delayed and could only accept emergency assistance applications.
