GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — The midway point of the local high school basketball season is upon us, and while there are many teams on the outside looking in at the upcoming state tournament, several teams are in contention.
The latest MIAA Power Rankings have been released, and the Frontier girls’ team remains the top local team. The Redhawks are 10-1 and sit at #3 in the state in Division 4.
In Division 5 Girls, Mahar is ranked 16th, Pioneer is 20th, Greenfield is at #32, Mohawk is 37th, Franklin County Tech 44th, Athol 50th, and Turners Falls is at #73.
On the Boys side, Frontier is 17th in Division 4, while Greenfield is the top local team in Division 5 at #22. Athol is 50th, Franklin Tech 59th, Mahar 62nd, Pioneer 80th, Turners Falls 81st, and Mohawk is at #86.
