Greenfield Announces Local Cultural Council Grant Awards

GREENFIELD – The Greenfield Local Cultural Council (GLCC) is proud to award 36 grants totaling $23,161 to

a diverse array of arts and culture projects in Greenfield and neighboring communities. Grants ranged from $300

to $1,500 and support projects in domains including literature, science, music, theater, and visual arts.

This year’s GLCC awardees include longstanding community events Franklin County Pride and JingleFest. The

awardees represent a diverse cross section of the arts, and include The Comedy Project, Lights! Camera!

Greenfield!, Roundhouse Winter Series of Crafting Classes, the Full Snow Moon Gathering and Social Dance,

and the Pollinator Pride Mural.

“I am thrilled that the City has the opportunity to allocate state funding to such a vibrant and diverse selection of

arts and culture projects,” said Mayor Virginia “Ginny” Desorgher. “This funding supports creators and

performers, enriches our community, and activates public and private spaces to the benefit of our local economy.”

In 2024, the GLCC conducted a community survey that informed local priorities for allocating funding. The

results favored live performances and festivals, social justice and cultural diversity events, and public art. The

grantmaking process took place in December, with over 90 applicants and $93,000 in requested funds. The next

round of GLCC funding will take place in the fall of 2026 for the 2027 fiscal year.
