GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Update: GCET officials announced Tuesday morning that service has been restored to school, public safety and other city departments, although residential customers will have awhile to wait as the replacement router will be in, at the earliest, on Wednesday.
GCET, Greenfield’s municipal internet and television provider, experienced a major internet outage Monday. Upon investigation, it was determined that an essential piece of hardware failed. Crews have been working on resolving the issue since Monday afternoon and it is expected to be sometime today before services are fully restored.
