PITTSFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Over $140 million in state funding will be used to create over 1,300 new homes across Massachusetts, according to an announcement Governor Healey made in Pittsfield earlier this week where a former bank building is being converted into new housing.

The new homes will come through two pathways, a commercial conversion tax credit to support turning vacant commercial buildings into homes and affordable housing development awards for new homes.
