BUCKLAND, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Conway Police Chief Donald Bates assisted Birds of Prey’s Tom Ricardi in the rescue of an injured bald eagle on Route 112 in Buckland last week.
The eagle was brought to South Deerfield Veterinary Clinic for evaluation and was found to have lead poisoning. After treatment at a specialized facility, the eagle is standing on its own and eating again.
