(Erving, MA) — The town of Erving will start the new fiscal year without a budget in place. Town officials have announced plans to reschedule the annual town meeting to July 11. The town typically holds its annual meeting in early May, which had to be rescheduled because of COVID 19. The delay to July 11 means the town will have to work with state officials to develop a provisional, or “one-twelfth” budget for the month of July. The fiscal year ends June 30th.
Erving officials are also looking into the possibility of holding the meeting outside, rather than at the typical location, which is the Erving Elementary School.
