(Northampton, MA) — The Northampton Police Department will have less money to work with next year. The Northampton City Council has taken an initial vote to reduce the police budget by $19-thousand dollars for next year. The department had requested a $194-thousand dollar increase. A second and final vote on the budget is expected by the end of the month.
