(Northfield, MA) — Several staffers at a Franklin County-based boarding school are being sued in connection with a sexual assault charge made by a former student. The female student has accused a female teacher at Northfield Mount Hermon School of repeatedly assaulting her over the course of several a number of years, beginning in 1998 when the victim, then 14, met the 26-year-old woman, who served as a teacher and coach at the school. Two deans, two teachers, an administrator, a mental health counselor, and a psychiatrist affiliated with NMH are facing charges of negligence, conspiracy, infliction of emotional distress, and violation of state law related to mandated reporting of sexual assaults to child protective services. The suit has been filed in Suffolk County District Court.
