BOSTON, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Congressman Jim McGovern has introduced the Fair Seeds for Farmers Act, legislation to limit seed patents and allow farmers’ to save, share, and breed seeds – something they currently cannot legally do.
The American seed industry is controlled by just a few, big corporations and their monopolies are leading to less efficient farming and a less resilient food system, according to McGovern.
