MONTAGUE, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A 21 year old Worcester man, Hermes Mariano Almonte Villar, drowned in the Connecticut River Saturday evening. Villar had been swimming at Rock Dam in Montague when he went under water and although response was quick, emergency responders were unable to resuscitate him and he was pronounced dead at Baystate Franklin Medical Center.
