(Deerfield, MA) The suspect in a car crash in Deerfield Wednesday had blood on his cloths and dried blood in his car that were inconsistent with his injuries from car crash Deerfield Police Detective Sergeant Adam Sokoloski said. After statements were made but the suspect that he had just murdered his family, an immediate investigation was conduct to locate those individuals Sokoloski said. Deerfield Police, State Police, the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office and Crime Scene Services assisted with the investigation which revealed no harm had come to the suspect’s family. According to a press release by the Deerfield Police Department on Facebook, the male suspect allegedly tried to commit suicide by driving his car into the building and demanding officers shoot him.
On July 15 around 4pm the property owner at 250 Greenfield Street in Deerfield reportedly approached a suspicious vehicle located in the corn field behind the building. The occupant of the vehicle reportedly had a tire iron around his neck, and proceeded to drive the car at a high rate of speed into the building. When officers arrived at the scene, the suspect exited the vehicle and told officers he had just murdered his family and ran. The suspect was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with serious injuries. The name of the suspect has not been released.
