(undated) — The free ride is over for riders who take Pioneer Valley Transit Authority buses. The agency this weekend resumed charging fares for riding PVTA buses. Fares had been suspended during the COVID 19 pandemic. Some officials, including Holyoke Mayor and Congressional candidate Alex Morse, have criticized the PVTA’s decision, and have called for the fares to continue to be waived.
