(Springfield, MA) Baystate Health has announced a $43 million project to build a new behavioral health hospital in Western Massachusetts. The facility will house 120 beds and will be available to adults, adolescents, and children. Kindred Healthcare will manage the daily operations of the facility and Barry Sarvet, Chair of Psychiatry at Baystate will provide leadership for the facility.

The new hospital will be available in approximately two years. Baystate inpatient behavior health units will continue to operate in the meantime.
