(Boston, MA) Governor Charlie Baker discussed the state of the COVID-19 pandemic in Massachusetts today. The public health data, he said, continues to be stable.
“Our success has been driven by our continued efforts to increase testing capacity throughout the Commonwealth,” said Baker.
Baker said the Stop the Spread testing initiative that was launched on July 10 has been instrumental in stopping the spread of COVID-19. 19,000 people have been tested at these locations. Today the program has been expanded to eight additional communities including Springfield and Agawam. To locate a free testing location go to Mass.gov/stopthespread. Baker said that anyone who has the symptoms of COVID-19 should stay home and talk to their primary care provider.
“More testing will be a pillar of the COVID-19 prevention strategy,” said Baker.
