(Turners Falls, MA) — Students in the Gill-Montague School District will go back to school September 14th. The Gill-Montague School Committee made that decision this week, just one day after the state’s education commissioner announced that the school year would be contracted from 180 to 170 days, as part of a deal with the state’s teachers union. The extra ten days are intended to provide district’s extra time to develop and implement safety protocols related to COVID 19.
