(Holyoke, MA) A 27 year old Vermont man is dead from what is believed to be a self inflicted gun shot wound. A high speed chase on I 91N with speeds up to 112mph started in Holyoke after Massachusetts State Police attempted to stop the suspect for an unreadable license plate. When the vehicle attempted to exit the highway at Northampton exit 18, According to District Attorney spokes person Mary Carey, the operator and sole occupant then allegedly failed to negotiate the turn and hit a guardrail on the Northbound onramp. Carey said the police found the driver with a gunshot wound to the head and a firearm and discharge cartridge casing inside the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
