The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles office in Greenfield has been closed during the pandemic, and rumors started circulating recently that the state had no plans to ever reopen it. Greenfield Mayor Roxann Wedegartner says those rumors are not true.
“We have been assured by the RMV that they are not going to close Greenfield forever”, said Wedegartner. “What they haven’t been able to tell us yet is when it (the office) reopens.”
Wedegartner said she has been in communication with both Senator Jo Comerford and State Representative Paul Mark about the situation, and that both legislators are trying to get more information from the registry about a reopening date.
