There is a new policy for police body-worn cameras in the town of Northfield. The policy mirrors others that other in effect in area towns and states where cameras are to be used during public interaction and to aid police as they document evidence, apprehend offenders, defend officers against false accusations and to provide an accurate depiction of events. The policy was discussed and approved by the Northfield Selectboard and Police Chief Robert Leighton earlier this week.
