(Greenfield, MA) Greenfield Mayor Roxann Wedegartner has declared September to be Hunger Action Month in the City of Greenfield. In Western Massachusetts, 47% of the population struggles with hunger. In light of the Coronavirus pandemic which may force thousands more into food insecurity in Western Massachusetts, Hunger Action Month in Greenfield is meant to bring awareness to food insecurity in the community and engage the public in volunteerism, donations, and awareness to help end hunger. Food banks in Western Massachusetts will hold events this month to help end hunger in their local communities.
