(Franklin County, MA) The time has come to check carbon monoxide detectors and to sweep and clean chimneys, says Leverett Fire Department. As the cold weather returns to the area, carbon monoxide calls have increased, according to the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services. Most residences are required to have carbon monoxide alarms along with smoke alarms in every level of the house. Landlords are also required to install carbon monoxide alarms in units that have a source of carbon monoxide. For more information from the Department of Fire Services click here.
