(Combined Sources) The Big E in West Springfield has begun to lay off employees after not being able to hold its annual fair this month. All 21 part-time staff members have been cut and ten percent of its full time staff have been told that November 1st will be their last day. Employees also accepted a percentage pay cut earlier this summer. The annual fair accounts for 85% of the Big E’s gross revenue each year, which is about $21 million.
