(Northampton, MA) The Northampton Police Department is warning the public of a door to door scam involving a fake paving company. According to the department, a crew from an illegitimate company is going to residences trying to sell paving services. To avoid this scam, anyone who wishes to have their driveway paved should do research first regarding references, confirming the legitimacy of the business, and asking for business cards. Anyone who wishes to report what they think may be a scam to call the non emergency number at your local police department so they can be identified.
