(Combined Sources) This week voters in Athol approved amending the town zoning bylaws that establish regulations for solar arrays that are built in residential areas. Much of the discussion at Monday’s special town meeting centered on the rights of property owners and what they would and would not be able to do to install a solar system on their land. This included the cutting of trees. A two-thirds majority was needed for the amendment to pass and the final vote was 62-11 in support.
