(Combined Sources) A local group has been dealt a blow in Superior Court. Judge Richard Carey has thrown out a lawsuit filed by the Wendell State Forest Alliance against the State Department of Conservation. The alliance brought charges against the department alleging that they broke state laws and regulations after overseeing a logging operation in 2019. Oak trees, some over 100 years old, were logged during the operation that was disrupted by protests by the Wendell State Forest Alliance.
