(Combined Sources) Greenfield will once again have a special permitting process in place if a homeowner wants to build a detached accessory dwelling or unit. At Wednesday night’s city council meeting, the council voted 10-1 to bring back the requirement after removing it this summer. At the meeting, several councilors voiced concerns from constituents that their neighbors could build on their property without a permit process. Property owners will now once again need to approach the planning board with their plans if they wish to build a detached accessory unit.
