(Greenfield, MA) By the end of June, the city of Greenfield hopes to have a temporary fire station in place on Hope Street. The goal is for construction to start in spring and be over by summer at a cost of $1.9 million. The building would be located at the current municipal parking lot on Hope Street. According to the project architects, the next step is for the city to put out a request for proposals from manufactures who will provide the temporary buildings that will house the fire trucks, offices and sleeping quarters.
