(Greenfield, MA) Greenfield Community College will host two free COVID-19 testing days December 15th and 16th. Testing on these days is free and does not require a medical referral but pre registration is required.
According to Linda Dunlavy, Executive Director at FRCOG, “The lack of Stop the Spread Sites in Franklin County that allows anyone to get a test for any reason has been a detriment to COVID response in our region, especially as cases are rising. The Greenfield regional testing event, as well as the news this week from Governor Baker, is a great step toward addressing this inequity. The FRCOG is happy to be partnering with Greenfield and GCC on the effort. We are able to partner thanks to CARES funding allocated to the FRCOG to serve several of our municipalities, and those municipalities identified the Greenfield testing site as a prioritized use of the funds.”
Earlier this week Governor Baker announced increased COVID-19 testing in Franklin County through the Stop the Spread initiative.
According to Greenfield’s Acting Interim Health Director, Jennifer Hoffman, “We are excited to be collaborating with multiple partners for this two day event. In addition, we are thrilled by Governor Baker’s announcement this week and the state-wide efforts increasing access throughout the Commonwealth. Improving access to Franklin County was much needed and we are excited to see testing capabilities increase in our area.”
