(Franklin County, MA) More information has become available regarding the scam targeting the Franklin County Sheriff’s office. Allegedly someone is calling and using the name Lt. Jim Brown and claiming to be from the Franklin County Sheriff’s office. This individual then makes accusations of missed jury duty for a high profile case. The Franklin County Sheriff’s office is advising people to hang up the phone. This individual is accusing people of committing felonies due to these alleged missed jury duty appearances and asking for payment with green dot cards. Anyone who receives such a call should not call back to see if it is real and should not make any payments to this individual.
