(ORANGE) — Officials in Orange are looking into over a dozen used auto dealerships in an effort to firm up the town’s licensing of such businesses. Selectboard member Pat Lussier said she has seen several of these establishments that don’t seem to be used car lots at all.
“Some of these (businesses) that are licensed to be used car dealers have nothing on their property but very old, very dead automobiles that should not even be sitting there,” Lussier said.
“They are actually growing into unlicensed junkyards,” Lussier added. “I think this is something we need to talk about.”
Lussier and fellow Selectboard member Jane Pierce will look at 14 used auto locations in town and their current operational status and report back to the selectboard this Wednesday.
