(Greenfield, MA) The Greenfield Fire Department recently collected toys for the Giving Back Together Toy Drive. According to Greenfield Fire Captain Alex Cooley, an estimated 500 children will benefit from the combined efforts of the Greenfield Fire Department and the drive organizers.
“Making 500 happy kids is a huge success and a testament to the generosity of our community from every person, business, and organization that made it possible, especially in what’s been such a difficult year for everyone. At the Fire Department we feel fortunate to be able to help with the Giving Back Together Toy drive however we can, but our involvement is just part of a community effort, and completely due to the dedication of a group of our Firefighters who have been so generous with their time and resources year after year,” said Cooley.
The firefighters were able to collect the toys at Greenfield High School, thanks to the school officials willingness to share space during the students’ food drive.
“It’s great to see our community coming together,” said Cooley.
Toy distribution will continue over the next couple of days.
