(Northampton, MA) — The Hampshire Regional Council of Governments is no more. State Senator Jo Comerford and Representative Natalie Blais have announced that the Legislature has passed and sent to the governor the final two pieces of legislation necessary to dissolve the Hampshire COG, which ceased operations in 2019. The legislation officially protects the 20 Hampshire COG member towns from responsibility for millions of dollars of liability for retiree pensions and health and dental insurance payments.
