Northampton Officer Recovering After Cruiser Struck

(Northampton, MA) A Northampton Police Officer and an unidentified woman are recovering today after a serious crash Saturday night. Officer Knowlton of the Northampton Police Department is recovering from a broken leg after his cruiser was struck by a vehicle traveling at a rate of 70mph in a 35mph zone. The driver of the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Both the passenger and the officer were transported to Baystate Hospital for their injuries.
