The towns of Hawley and Cummington have received a joint grant award of $260,000 from the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters program to replace decades-old airpack equipment.
The annual Source to Sea Connecticut River Watershed cleanup took place this past Saturday, with the local Green River cleanup bringing in loads of trash and debris from not only the water but the shores and surrounding natural areas.
Work began Friday for a reclaiming and repaving project in Athol. The project is expected to last several weeks and will encompass School Street, D Street, C Street, J Street, and Ellsworth Streets.
