(undated)  — The weather is more bearable today temperature-wise, but some areas of the region paid a steep price for that relief, which came in the form of damaging late afternoon thunderstorms Wednesday. MEMA reports that as many as 25,000 Massachusetts residents were without power at the height of the storm. Locally, Warwick appeared to be the hardest hit with 400 residents left without electricity. High winds and heavy rains also took down trees and wires in a number of communities, including Turners Falls, where a tree fell across 11th Street, and in Gill, where downed wires and a tree temporarily blocked a road. A number of trees were also taken down in Greenfield, especially the northern end of town. So far, no injuries have been reported.
