(Boston, MA) The Raise Up Coalition is fighting to rise the minimum wage once again. The $15 minimum wage was passed in 2018 and took effect on January 1st of this year, however the high inflation rate has “eaten away at the purchasing power of a $15 minimum wage” according to Senator Jason Lewis, who has filed a $20 minimum wage bill. The bill would raise minimum wage by $1.25 an hour until it reaches $20 in 2027.

The Raise Up Massachusetts Coalition is comprised of more than 150 organizations and has been behind the minimum wage raises to $15 an hour win 2018, the increase from $8 to $11 in 2013, earned sick time, and the Fair Share Amendment.
