FRANKLIN COUNTY, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — A $25 million federal grant has been rescinded from the Mass Audubon society. The funds were intended to aid in the protection of 10,000 acres along the Connecticut River and the restoration of 100 acres in that area, including parts of Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden counties. Mass Audubon is appealing the decision and plans to continue the work, if at a much slower pace.
