GREENFIELD, MA (FRANKLIN COUNTY NOW) — Senator Jo Comerford and Representative Natalie Blais delivered a letter in support of rural economic development provisions in the Mass Leads Act signed by 26 rural legislators. The priorities include investing in agriculture and the food system, creating a Rural Communities designation, funding rural water and sewer infrastructure, and supporting the transforming of abandoned mill buildings.

Senator Comerford then heard from a variety of people in support of this effort to make space for rural communities as a member of the Joint Committee on Economic Development.
