(Greenfield, MA) The Greenfield City Council will be meeting tonight and will hear a First Reading to repurpose $289,000 in funds previously authorized for Police Station Upgrades for a new Dispatch Communication System. Fire Chief Robert Strahan and Police Chief Robert Haigh spoke to the Ways and Means committee Tuesday about the importance of replacing their current dispatch communication system that has failed during a recent storm, leaving dispatch to run off a portable system. The current system is approximately twenty years old and parts are no longer produced to repair the system.
